Hoy Group 2

Last week we went to Hoy. We were split into two groups group one going from Monday morning to Wednesday after noon and the second group going Wednesday morning and leaving Friday night. When group two arrived we got a tour of the hostel and then split up into groups. One of the groups went canoeing and the other went for a walk. After we finished we all met back at the hotel the canoers were all really cold but had had a good time and the walkers had freezing feet but had really enjoyed the walk. Soon after we found out which rooms we were staying and who with. That night we had pizza and sticky toffee pudding for tea a little while after we got plain and chocolate cake because it was Jack’s birthday and that night we watched swallows and amazons while we had hot chocolate, biscuits and toast.

The next day we woke up and it was horrible weather raining and really windy but that just made the day much better. We started by having breakfast and making our pack lunches then we went for a gorge walk. That day we all split up into three groups but we all did the same activities at the same time. The gorge walk was really wet and there were a lot of big jumps and water falls there was one so big we needed a rope to go down. After that we went back to the hostel and had our lunch and then went to bush craft. We all made shelters out of logs and branches we found on the ground then we gathered some more and made a fire to roast marshmallows on. At the end of the day we all went to the hostel and had roast chicken for tea with chocolate muffin for pudding and ice cream.

That night while we were having hot chocolate, biscuits and toast we watched Madagascar. The next day was our last day. We were back in our two groups that we were in the first day and while the first group did archery the other did canoeing. We all came back for lunch and had all really enjoyed ourselves but there was still fun to come. That afternoon the first group went for the walk and the second group did archery. We all came back and had all loved our time in hoy but we all were really sad to leave. We really hope we can do something like it again soon. Jack and Daisy

  2. Hi class 6 Hoy was one of the best trips I've been on. Canoeing was the best activity I think because we jumped in the river afterwards. we also went on a gorge walk which was another great activity on the gorge walk we went down a waterfall in my group we had custard creams and warm juice afterward. Me,Erin.R and Aniesha were like a little mini group. in the gorge walk we went through a tunnel. One activity was a walk and we had to use a map and we shared being a leader, the first leaders were Aniesha and Erin.K. We walked four miles all the way to the cattle rig. We also did archery first we learnt how to hold a bow and where to be when your shooting. after playing two games we had a compatition I won one of the compatition and miss johnston won the other. 8. Hi class 6 I had lots of fun in Hoy. On the first day we did canoeing it was really hard to control the canoe but at the end we got to jump in to the water and it was freezing. The next day we first did Gorge walking and if you dont know what that is its when you walk through a stream then we had a little stop and had some orange squash and biscuits. After Gorge walking we did Bush craft we first found some sticks to make a shelter and then we made a fire and we got some marshmallows. On the last day we did Archery and I hit right in the target and I also hit a balloon. After Archery we went on a walk and there was loads of puddles. I Can not pick my favorite activity they were all so great.

  12. Hi everyone. We went to Hoy and we had to wait for the boat at Houten we waited for about ten minutes. On the boat it wasint as rough as I thought it would be. The first activity was a walk and we were with someone called Charlie she gave us some of us a map of the route that we were taking and after your feet and legs would be really sore. The next day we did the gorge walk so we got all our ecwitment you got a helmet and waterproofs. Then we went on the mini bus and when we got there I was with Emma we had to down a mini waterfall. Also the same day we did bushcraft. Then on the last day we did canoeing the water was freezing at the end of canoeing we got to go in the water I went in four times. The very last activity was archery at the end I didn't really want to leave but I had to and if we could stay another day I would. Kaylen

  19. I had a fantastic time with you all in Hoy. I'm not sure I could pick a favourite activity as I loved them all. I enjoyed the gorge walk, even though my boots were full of water right from the start, having to crawl through that tunnel! It was lovely to see everyone working together and helping each other, but most of all it was fanDABulous to see all your happy faces enjoying yourselves. Mrs Johnstone 😄
