Paper making

We have been finding out how paper is made. We use it everyday but don't really think about where it comes from.

While we were preparing the mixture we thought about adjectives which describe the pulp.

  2. Hi class 5
Making the paper was hard but fun. When we were making it it felt slimy and gooey. We added some glitter to make the finished paper look cool. It's very wet when it's done and I can't wait till it's dry. It would be nice to do it again.

  8. Hi class 5. It was so fun making paper. I liked pouring glitter onto the paper. To make it we got into groups of three and two people and the group had to hold two frames together. One person in the group had to get a jug and fill it with pulp then pour it onto the frame with holes some clumps of pulp sat there on the frame. Then we took the frames with the pulp over to another table. We got a cloth and put it underneath the frames. Then we got paper towels and soaked up the water to make the paper less soggy. Then we opened the big frame like a book and our wet paper was there. Then we poured a small amount of glitter onto the paper and left it there to dry. I would love to do something like this again. 10. Hi Class 5. It was fun making the P.P. (paper pulp). Ripping up the egg cartons and the paper took a bit long but it was worth it in the end. It turned out to be a big gloopy mess in the tub and then after we drained it and flattened it then we added glittery glitter. Scott

Making the paper was fun. It felt weird when me and Aria were mixing the pulp and braking some of the bits of the pulp. I liked pouring the pulp into the frame thing. When mrs Wragg poured the powder stuff in it went in our faces. I think we put a bit to much glitter on at the end.

I loved making the paper and puting the glitter on. To make pulp you need to tare up paper or egg boxes and put them in a big tub then add warm water and leave for a few hours. Then mix with your hands and mush and leave for a few hours then get a flatt sifft a take a jug and poor a bit of the mixture over the top of it and the water will drip into the tub. Then put some cloth under and add glitter and leave to dry.

  14. Hi class 5.
I loved making paper because it was a mush of egg cartons and water. It's squishy it was so much fun to play with but it took ages to make in the first place. I would love to do this again.

  16. Hi class 5.
I really enjoyed making paper. It was really messy and wet but fun.we were all in groups of three's or two's . first we got the paper mix and poored it on a small frame with small holes in it and it was sorounded by a bigger frame and two people would hold the frames together so the smaller frame wouldent fall in the paper mix. Next we would get a dry cloth so it wouldent wet the table. When it was on the cloth but still in it's frame we soaked all the moist out of the paper mix. Then we tooke of the frame and spreaded some white glitter on top to make it look nicer because the paper mix was green.

I really enjoyed making paper my favorite part was when I poured the pulp on the frame and seeing the glitter on the flattened pulp. It was fun making the paper and it felt very sticky and wet.The people that was tearing the egg cartons did a lot more than my group.
