We
decided to see if a seed needs water, light and soil to grow so we got six
glass jars some soil, paper towels and a
tin to keep out light. We left the seeds
for a week and these were the results.
The
one with no water didn’t grow at all because seeds need water to grow.
The
seed with no light grew because seeds don’t need light to start growing.
The
one with no soil grew because seeds don’t need soil to start growing.
We
compared them with seeds that had water, soil and light. These were the ‘control’
seeds. They started growing a little.
All
in all it was a fun experiment and all the class enjoyed it.
Hi class five it was very fun and interesting doing the if plants need soil to grow my group was doing if a seed needed soil to start growing and the one with no soil started to grow my prediction was wrong because I thought that it wouldn't grow.ErlendB
ReplyDeleteHi class 5 it was very interesting looking at if the plant's need soil,water and sun to sirvive my group had the one with no soil my pirdiction was wrong i thought the seed would bee floating in water but we put a paper towel it so that's why my pirdiction was wrong i hope we do something like it again .William
ReplyDeleteHi class 5 when we did how to grow a broad bean i thought it was fun because i did the one when you had to see if it could grow with light and one without light the one with light has not grown yet and the one without light did grow.jennifer

ReplyDeleteI had a fun time doing the broad bean activity.My group was no water.We found out plants need water to live or else they die .The other groups found out plants don't need soil or light to live.Aiden

Doing this experiment was so much fun. I was in the sunshine group (Does a plant need sunshine to grow.) and surprisingly it doesn't well to start growing. We learnt that a seed doesn't need sunshine or soil to start growing but once it uses all the energy from the seed it will need sunshine and soil to grow. This is called germination. I learnt so much doing this experiment it was really interesting and I hope we do something similar in the near future. Daisy

ReplyDeleteOur group was doing the one with sun and without sun. the one with out sun was put in a box my prediction was incorrect. The seed without the sun did grow and so did the other one. Seeds need water but not light or soil to start growing.Cameron

ReplyDeletefirst you get a brod bean and soil and water and a glas you get the soil and you put it in the glas then you ceafrle put the brod bean in the soil where you can see it after you have done that you put some water in it and each day you can see the diffirents and soon it will grow fulle and I hope you have fun growing a brod bean.by Paige

For example I am in the group that is finding if a broad bean can start growing without soil. We have found out that it can start growing without soil. There were four groups research and development, reading aloud and wild reading, space race game and the baking group.
